In Conversation, Ian Daniell and Dr Kate Quigley

  • Linton & Kay Gallery 40 Marine Parade Cottesloe, WA, 6011 Australia (map)

An opportunity to explore Ian Daniell's art and the vital science of coral conservation with Dr Kate Quigley

Join us for an engaging discussion on Saturday 16th May, featuring artist Ian Daniell alongside Dr Kate Quigley, ARC DECRA Fellow, University of Western Australia/James Cook University.

Dr. Quigley’s research focuses on understanding why some corals are resilient to heat stress while others are vulnerable.

Through his intricate designs and vivid colours, Ian Daniell brings attention to the profound impact of rising ocean temperatures on coral reefs, portraying the stark contrast between healthy, thriving corals and those weakened by heat stress. By intertwining art and science, each piece serves as both a visual feast and a somber reminder of the urgent need to address climate change and protect these vital marine habitats.
